Time to Consider Sitting out the Next Elections

Perhaps it's just emotion right now, but I'm seriously considering either sitting out the next election or voting LIB or DEM. The GOP leadership in the Congress showed tremendous moral clarity in passing the Schiavo legislation, only to be let down by the Bush brothers. Allowing Terri to die without so much as a peep, the Bushes proved to be as morally empty as Bill Clinton.

Couple this with George's statement that the Minutemen, a citizens group committed to pointing our porus southern border, are no more than a vigilante group. Oddly, he nothing to say when a violent Central American gang announced it would send up members to violently harrass the Minutemen. No words of vigilantism from Mr. Bush then.

Yep, I think it's time for the real conservatives to stand up for our values and boycott the next (and possibly '08 too) election.

Progeny with Hereditary Diseases of 14 July 1933 --> -->
--> -->
(1)i. Anyone who has a hereditary illness can be rendered sterile by a surgical operation if, according to the experience of medical science, there is a strong probability that his/her progeny will suffer from serious hereditary defects of a physical or mental nature. ii. Anyone is hereditarily ill within the meaning of the law who suffers from one of the following illnesses: 1. Congenital feeble-mindedness 2. Schizophrenia 3. Manic depression 4. Hereditary epilepsy 5. Huntington's chorea 6. Hereditary blindness 7. Hereditary deafness 8. Serious physical deformities iii. In addition, anyone who suffers from chronic alcoholism can be sterilised.
(7) i. Proceedings before the Hereditary Health Courts are not public. ii. The Hereditary Health Court has to make the necessary inquiries; it can call expert, and other, witnesses, as well as order the personal appearance and medical examination of the person to be sterilised, compelling him to do so in cases of non-appearance without adequate excuse. The provisions concerning the conduct of civil hearings are to be applied correspondingly to the examination of and swearing in of witnesses and experts, as well as to the disqualification and rejection of

"Euthanasia" Killings in Nazi Germany
(http://www.holocaust-trc.org)
Forced sterilization in Germany was the forerunner of the systematic killing of the mentally ill and the handicapped. In October 1939, Hitler himself initiated --> -->

a decree which empowered physicians to grant a "mercy death" to "patients considered incurable according to the best available human judgment of their state of health." The intent of the so-called "euthanasia" program, however, was not to relieve the suffering... --> -->

members of the court. Physicians who appear as witnesses or medical experts are obliged to testify without regard to professional confidentiality. Courts and administrative authorities, as well as hospital institutions are obliged to supply information to the Hereditary Health Court on request.
(12) i. If the court finally decides upon sterilisation, the operation must be performed even if it is against the wishes of the person to be sterilised, unless that person was solely responsible for the application. The medical officer is responsible for requesting the necessary measures to be taken by the police authorities. In so far as other measures prove insufficient, the use of force is permissible. Reasons for the law. Since the National Revolution public opinion has become increasingly preoccupied with questions of demographic policy and the continuing decline in the birth rate. However, it is not only the decline in population, which is a cause for serious concern but equally the increasingly evident genetic composition of our people. Whereas the hereditarily healthy families have for the most part adopted a policy of having only one or two children, countless numbers of inferiors and those suffering from hereditary conditions are reproducing unrestrainedly while their sick and asocial offspring burden the community.

Only 150 Lashes???

Looks like the Religion of Peace is getting soft on us.

Pregnant housemaid to get 150 lashes for adultery

Staff Report

Ras Al Khaimah: A maid was sentenced to 150 lashes yesterday for getting pregnant out of wedlock.
A Sharia Court official said the maid's UAE national sponsor filed a case with police accusing N.S.T of committing adultery and being pregnant.
Her case was referred to the public prosecution department and she was ordered to take a pregnancy test, which came back positive.
She refused to reveal the name of the child's father, despite being interrogated by the police and the public prosecutor.
The public prosecution department referred her to the emirate's Sharia Court.
She refused to identify her lover again.
The court sentenced her to 150 lashes, to be administered in two stages. She will then be deported.

Follow-up from yesterday

From today's New York Times:

Gay activists worried that Dr. Frieden's use of the announcement to
emphasize safe-sex practices would set up gay men as culprits, reviving a
concern as old as the disease.

"Rather than increasing awareness of the risks of unsafe sex and crystal use, the Health Department risks stigmatizing gay men as crazed drug addicts carelessly or wantonly spreading a killer bug," Community H.I.V./AIDS Mobilization Project said in a statement. "In this case, the Health Department seems to offer little to the understanding of the root causes and potential solutions to drug use apart from the discredited strategy of Nancy Reagan, 'Just say no.' "

These people are too easy. I know what they'll say before they even think it. Well, except with the Ronald Reagan thing. They instead opted to bash Nancy first.

Let's not whip out the bronze quite yet

Before we case this guy in bronze, let's look at some things that this "brilliant mind" wrote:

Question: Will there be another draft?
HST: "Oh God… Jesus, I hope so. The
Army has become a pack of vicious, predatory, mercenary hired killers, and a
draft would democratize the Army as it always has. That's why Vietnam turned out
to be a victory for our side—for the antiwar folks."- HST 2003

53,000 American boys dead and he calls that a victory for his side. Doesn't matter if you feel the war was justified or not, no single American can feel good about it. Oh, except Hunter Thompson of course

"Not even the foulest atrocities of Adolf Hitler ever shocked me so badly as
these [Abu Ghraib] photographs did." - HST 2004

Wow, that's a helluva statement. Hitler incinerated thousands of his victims. Performed experimental surgery on people (without drugs). Murdered 6 million people in death camps. But yet, that doesn't hold a candle to naked twister and panties over a guys head.

Folks, this guy was not Hemingway. Not even close. He just offed himself like EH did. In two hundred years, people will be saying "Hunter S who??"
